System Design

IIT Walkman

From 2012 to 2013 Traveler Hauptman was a senior engineer with the Advanced Robotics group at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. While there he managed the software development team for IIT's entry into the Darpa Robotics Challenge.

IIT - Advanced Robotics

The COMAN robot is a humanoid research platform designed by the Humanoids Group at ADVR IIT. While working with this group, Traveler did systems design, software architecture, and systems troubleshooting for this robot as well as others in development in the department.

Traveler Hauptman performed this work as an employee of the Advanced Robotics department of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.

Systems Design of a platform for mult-robot research suitable for field deployment and scaleable in perfomance to meet the needs of any given research project. The platform used a mix of off-the-shelf and custom technologies that allows the researcher to select the cost-performance trade-off appropriate to the research but still maintain a consistent architecture that is easy to integrate. Prototypes targeting 2k Euro were developed.

Traveler Hauptman did this work as a full-time employee of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.
