Kineassist - Rehabilitation Device

Motivation

The Kineassist is a rehabilitation device for assisting physical therapists with gait retraining. Among other features, the device has passive methods for controlling the range of hip motion.

When we joined the project, the hip motion mechanism did not have the capability that the therapists needed.

Activity

We designed a 3 way toggle mechanism that is ergonomic for the therapist and achieves the desired ranges of motion.
